Help Sudan Stay Informed with Radios

After decades of war, much of Sudan (the largest country in Africa) has little to no access to infrastructure and therefore no access to reliable information about government, human rights or peace talks.

But the peace process continues and there are developments every day. That is why International Relief and Development (IRD), in partnership with USAID and the National Democratic Institute, has a program that brings wind-up and solar-powered radios to villages on the still-contentious border of northern and southern Sudan. With these radios, residents will hear the latest developments in the peace process, and what their role is, rather than having to rely on rumors.

Sudan is in a time of potentially great change, and without access to information, many residents may be left out of the decisions and processes that could bring peace.

Sign this pledge today to support IRD's program to bring radios to Sudan.
