Prevent Mahwah's Ban on Dogs

The Mahwah Council has introduced Ordinance #1679 prohibiting dogs from all town parks, recreational areas, and school property (whether school is in session or not), including parking lots.
This ordinance would deprive a significant portion of the population of enjoyment of the open spaces their taxes support, as well as depriving other citizens of healthy social interaction with dogs.  Ordinance 1679 would severely limit contact between children and dogs and would encourage the perception that dogs are dangerous and undesirable.
Children not exposed to dogs in a controlled, friendly situation are more likely to be afraid of them later; the same is true for puppies and young dogs with regard to children.  Banning dogs from social area only leads to undersocialized dogs and fearful people later on.
Please sign to tell the Mayor and Council that you object to Ordinance #1679 to ban dogs from town parks and recreational areas!
