And, even though its illegal to hunt endangered animals, if we don`t stop soon, they will be endangered. Just look at how easily the human species drove the mammoth to extinction!! Animals are a very important part of our lives, believe it or not, and help the world go round. If animars are gone one day, chaos will arrise.

But this has been happening since the dawn of the animal age. People say animals cause traffic accidents. Also true. I believe that animals should be cared for not left alone. Hunting may seem like a cruel and evil sport, but it is not. Animals have been hunted from the begining of time, and still are today. Yes, the methods of harvesting wild game have become very advanced, but today there is a smaller population of hunters, and in some cases a over population of wildife. This is why each county of each state has its own game laws. Animals of a high population in a small area are more than likely a hazard. They WILL become unhealthy when they either run out of space or other resources, such as food.(If you disagree with this statement check with your local dnr office and ask about wildlife diseases.) Not only do hunters often plant food plots to enhance the health of populations, by harvesting controlled amounts of wildlife, they keep populations healthy. Here is an example: say you are a landowner. You have 100 acres, and on you land the estimated pop. of whitetail deer is 30-45. Those animals are constantly suffering by competing for reasources. If the land is not hunted some of those deer will die from malnutrition. On the other hand if the land is hunted, say harvesting 50% of the pop., the remaing deer will have less competition, and will have a better life, growing larger, and producing more offsprind, due to the now available excess resources. Hunting is not an cruel sport, it is taking care of the reasources in nature that God has given us. If we quit hunting, populations of wildife may increase, but they stand a chance of killing each other off through competion. I do not agree with most Darwin"s ideas, but the survival of the Fittiss is real, stonger animals prey on the weaker, which can and has led to extinction. Again, I do understand your argument, but banning hunting is a very bad idea, I believe that our president understands this, and if you do read this Pres. Bush, understand that conservation of wildlife is the key, not preservation. | |
