Protect Bermuda's Pristine Waters
It's been five months since the end of the government public consultation for a large-scale, fully protected marine reserve in Bermuda's waters. Now is the time to convince the government to release the consultation results and encourage them to move forward with creating a reserve.
Bermuda has an opportunity to protect its beautiful azure-blue waters and part of the Sargasso Sea by establishing the largest marine reserve in the Atlantic Ocean. Known to some locally as the Blue Halo, such a reserve would protect this unique ocean ecosystem, increase local fish stocks, enhance Bermuda's reputation as a special place with a bold conservation history, and create a lasting legacy for future generations. The marine reserve would be good for tourism, will create jobs, and the public is behind this effort.
Please join us by sending a message to Premier Cannonier and Bermuda's Cabinet to request that they release the full results of the consultation and to urge the government to act now to create the marine reserve they promised Bermuda.

It's been five months since the public consultation asking Bermudians about a fully-protected marine reserve in Bermuda's waters. I write today in support of a marine reserve starting at mile 50 and extending out to the end of the exclusive economic zone.
Five months later I still have not heard about the consultation or a plan to move forward on the reserve. I request that the full results of the public consultation be released and the process of creating a marine reserve move forward.
