Stop the Execution of Meriam Yehya Ibrahim in Sudan

Sudan intends to execute Meriam Yehya Ibrahim just because she is Christian. Meriam has been sentenced to death for 'apostasy', or refusing to renounce her religion.

When Meriam was sentenced to death on 15 May, she was 8 months pregnant. She remains jailed with her newborn baby girl and her 20-month-old son, Martin. As is customary with all prisoners awaiting execution, Meriam has been shackled by heavy chains around her ankles since her death sentence ruling.

Meriam has also been sentenced to 100 lashes for being married to a Christian man. She is a prisoner of conscience, convicted solely because of her religious beliefs and identity.

Ask the Minister of Justice in Sudan to release Meriam Yehya Ibrahim.
Your Excellency,

I urge you to ensure that Meriam Yehya Ibrahim is released immediately and unconditionally because she is a prisoner of conscience, convicted solely because of her religious beliefs and identity.
