President Bush: Implement the Energy Policy That Works!

Target: George W. Bush, President
Sponsored by: Bill Richardson for President
The disastrous policies of the Bush administration are threatening the future of our planet. Our dependence on oil, and the effects of global warming are putting our future at risk. We need a new "man-on-the-moon" effort to protect our environment - Governor Bill Richardson has provided us with that plan.

Governor Bill Richardson, who served as Energy Secretary under President Bill Clinton, knows that U.S. foreign policy is too dependent on maintaining access to oil resources, and oil consumption is hastening the effects of global warming.

But Richardson isn't just talking. In his own state, he signed a law that would quadruple the use of clean energy by 2020. As Energy Secretary, he increased efficiency standards for appliances, saving billions in energy costs. If implemented nationwide, his plan would:
  • Reduce oil imports by 40 percent.
  • Replace at least 20 percent of our transportation fuels with renewable resources by 2020.
  • Reduce greenhouse gases 75 percent by 2050.
  • Promote tax breaks for the construction of energy efficient buildings.
  • Offer tax credits for hybrid cars and public transportation.
  • Create a system of tradable energy credits to encourage private investment in alternative energy technologies.
  • Provide tax incentives for the use of renewable energy sources like solar, wind or biofuels.
Governor Richardson's plan will create a bold new path for America to follow in the 21st Century - energy independence can become a reality. Governor Richardson has made New Mexico the Clean Energy State. He can do the same for our nation.

TELL PRESIDENT BUSH: FOLLOW GOVERNOR RICHARDSON'S LEAD AND IMPLEMENT A STRICT BUT FAIR ENERGY PLAN THAT WORKS!

Dear President Bush,

You have admitted that America is addicted to oil, but you have failed to help America kick the oil habit. As a concerned citizen, I ask you to implement an energy plan that works - a plan that will make America a clean energy nation and add tens of thousands of jobs to the economy.

Governor Bill Richardson is already steering the state of New Mexico away from foreign oil, and toward a more sustainable energy plan. Please follow Governor Bill Richardson's lead and continue all efforts to create a cleaner, more independent America.

We are being held by the suffocating grip of OPEC oil, and the greedy Arab nations are making out like bandits off the hardworking and financially struggling Americans of lasser classes who are finding it increasingly difficult to make a living and live a decent life. We need to wean ourselves off foreign oil ONCE AND FOR ALL, and really invest in renewable clean renewable energy sources like hydrogen, biofuels, solar, wind, tidal, etc!!! The more clean energy solutions we can explore, the less these greedy and heartless Arabs will make in our money. Instead of being part of problem with no end in sight - how about being part of a creative solution that will benefit us Americans, and especially the environment!!!!

Global Warming scares the heck out of me, that's why. Anyway, we need to learn to be much more self-sufficient and depend less on oil.

We need more men like Governor Bill Richardson! I'm tired of our government's blatant disregard for our environment!
