Help get 'American' & 'Multiracial American' boxes on all census & race questionnaire forms!

The greatest asset that we as Americans have is our unity; it plays a vital role in American society. Unity in America should be underlined, supported and communicated as often and as much as we possibly can.

Racial inquiry forms should be very careful to do no harm to the unity of our nation, when asking very sensitive questions about race and ethnicity. They should include the race options of 'American' and 'Multicultural American' that will allow all Americans to demonstratively communicate their overall unity and then to check off additional sub-races that they genetically identify with.

My race is viewed as African American or in the color code of black and that's because of the sub-race mentality in this country.  My race is actually American and after that I'm genetically connected to multiple sub-races.  Changing the mentality, of continually viewing ourselves as sub-races, is vital to racial progress in the USA.  We are all Americans and we should be developing that mentality, instead of constantly supporting a sub-racially divided mentality.  We can and must do better.

Dividing the American Race up into racial subgroups and asking people to identify themselves with one or more groups is a real 'catch-22' thing to do.  It helps with, racial statistics and anti-discrimination efforts, but it also underlines our differences and constantly reminds us of them throughout the year; which plays against a unified mindset and a unified American race.  That's why it's vital that we include race choices that can counter the negative effects of race forms and remind us of our overall unity.

If you were born in America, then claim your American race and then check off the sub-races that you genetically identify with.  All others could claim the 'Multiracial American' race and then check the appropriate sub-races or just choose one of the original subgroups that they feel best describes their race.

Race forms (while reminding us of our differences), should not deny us the opportunity to communicate and to demonstrate our American unity. Help send a powerful unifying message to all Americans and especially to our children and help improve the overall American mindset in regards to race in this country.

Dear Mr. President, U.S. Congress, State officials and Business Entities

We ask that all future forms that inquire about race or ethnicity, Govt. or otherwise include a box labeled 'American' and also 'Multiracial American'.

Americans and Multiracial Americans should be able to highlight their overall unity and fully claim and communicate who they genetically and racially are on all census and race questionnaire forms.  Americans greatly value their freedom of choice and want to be respected and properly represented in regards to census and racial identification.  No one wants to be under represented by not having a proper box to check and demonstrating our overall unity (as you know) is greatly important to the American people.

Thank you for your immediate attention and efforts in resolving this matter.  God bless you and may God bless the United States of America!
