Tell President Obama: Please Take Action to Reduce Gun Violence

We're tired of waiting for Congress to act on gun violence.

That's why Everytown for Gun Safety sent President Obama these five straightforward actions the White House can take to help curb gun violence, save lives, and reduce crime without waiting on Congress:

• Guns Near Schools: Remove exemptions that let dangerous people carry guns near our children's schools

• Crack down on No-Check Gun Sellers: Make sure high-volume gun sellers become licensed dealers and are required to conduct background checks for all gun sales.

• Intercept Potential Killers: Ensure that federal law enforcement notifies local law enforcement when dangerous criminals try to illegally buy guns at dealers in their community

• Enforce Existing Law: Help states that require background checks for all gun sales to enforce existing laws on the books

• Close the Boyfriend Loophole: Don't let convicted domestic abusers buy guns just because they’re not married to the person they abused

We know President Obama is open to these ideas, but to overcome the NRA's aggressive opposition, we need to send an overwhelming message that we want real action NOW.
