Planeswalkers Unite demands a lifetime ban of one Martin Shkreli, including a rescinding of rights to own cards, from the trading card game Magic the Gathering

In September 2015, Martin Shkreli obtained production rights the the antiparasitic HIV/AIDS medication Daraprim. He then boosted the price per tablet of this drug from $13.50 per tablet to $750 per tablet, an increase of approximately 5556%, effectively making this medication unavailable to anyone but the super rich.

Shkreli has now turned his attention towards the trading card game Magic the Gathering. In an announcement made by Shkreli he makes specific mention of the card "Black Lotus". As nearly any player can attest, Black Lotus is possibly THE rarest card in the game, owing to its ability to add three mana of any color to a player's mana pool and a play cost of zero. A single copy of this rare card can easily cost between $25,000 and $60,000.

Given Shkreli's history of price gouging and underhanded business tactics we believe that his involvement with the game at any level, indeed his involvement with ANY Wizards of the Coast game, would serve only to blacken the company's image, as well as that of dedicated players and fans alike.
