Stand up for Climate Action - Pledge to join Earth Hour 2017

Climate change has already had devastating impacts on our planet. 2016 was the hottest year on record globally and weather extremes ranging from extreme drought to flash floods and unusual precipitation events are becoming more common. And it’s only going to get worse, unless we act.

Over the past 11 years, Earth Hour - an action of solidarity in the fight against climate change - has represented the largest grassroots movement for the planet. From changing laws to funding solar-powered homes, Earth Hour participants have made a real, positive impact on our planet.

And when we raise our voices together, our local, state and federal government listen. That's why it's more important than ever that each of us participate in this year's Earth Hour campaign.

With millions of people now demanding action, there has never been a more timely and important moment for you to speak up (and go dark) for a healthy planet. This year, our participation in Earth Hour will show our commitment to protecting the future of our planet and the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement.

On Saturday, March 25, pledge to join millions of people around the world - along with businesses, landmarks, and cities - to turn off your lights from 8:30 to 9:30pm local time in celebration of Earth Hour and to show your commitment to the planet and our collective fight against climate change.

Pledge:

I am standing up for climate action and I pledge to turn off my lights during Earth Hour 2017.
