Veterans Earned Health Care Protecting Our Nation - Fix TRICARE Now

Military veterans defended our country. Now it's time we stand up for them and tell Congress to defend their health care. We need to stop the budget games and fix TRICARE's flawed payment system to preserve military patients' access to vital services.

It is past time for America to move to a stable system that provides security for service members, veterans and their families. Consistently passing temporary patches, with the ongoing threat of future cuts, leads to uncertainty and a failure to keep the promises made to take care of our military members during and after their service. Take action to ensure members of the military and their families have access to the care they need.
Greetings,

I am writing to ask you to take action this year and fix TRICARE’s flawed payment system. It's time to finally provide a permanent solution and create stability for members of the military and their families.

TRICARE derives its flawed system through Medicare's sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula, which every year calls for drastic cuts.
Congress has been passing temporary patches to the flawed SGR formula for 10 years. The continuous threat of cuts in Medicare and TRICARE payments to physicians has acted as a barrier to a 21st century health care system our military families deserve. Consistently passing temporary patches with the threat of future cuts leads to uncertainty for patients who rely on important health care programs like Medicare and TRICARE. Failure to act only makes future cuts steeper and escalates the costs of permanent payment reform. This is not fiscally responsible.

I urge you to FIX this problem this year by repealing the SGR. Congress must implement a more stable physician payment system that provides security for patients and the physicians who care for them.

Thank you,
