We Stand in Unity Against Terror in Paris, Beirut, Kenya and Nigeria #UnityAgainstTerror

As citizens of the world, we mourn the victims of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris, Beirut, Kenya, Nigeria, Syria and around the world and stand in solidarity with their families and friends.

We are also gravely concerned about the world’s response to these attacks by governments and by individual actors. This is our solemn pledge:

We will...

  • Stand in solidarity with those threatened by ISIS and other terror networks.
  • Champion responses to terrorist attacks that are grounded in a respect for freedom, inclusion, compassion and peace.
  • Reject ignorant generalizations and misinformation that conflate all Muslims and refugees with murderers and terrorists.
  • Combat bigotry that would condemn the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims as violent extremists and educate our communities that the vast majority of refugees are fleeing FROM these terrorists.
  • Work to empower those threatened by ISIS and other terror networks around the world through education and opportunity.

We recognize that peace is not born from silence. We must respond to these horrors, but we must respond with inclusion and compassion, or we will be in danger of perpetuating the cycle of hate that these terrorists so desperately cling to.

This is our pledge. #UnityAgainstTerror
