Tell Google: Stop Reading Our Email to Spam Us

Not only is Google reading your Gmail to target you with ads, but now they're using that information to spam you. Google is now deliberately spamming inboxes with ads that look like real emails.

Gmail treats these ads like regular email, but you aren't allowed to mark them as spam. And while Google has a strict anti-spam policy for users, they apparently think it's okay for them to send you spam.

Your email provider should protect you from spam, but Google is doing just the opposite. Rather than protect you from spam, Google is reading every word of your personal email to target you with ads that look like real emails.
Dear Eric Schmidt,

We expect our email provider to protect us from spam, not send us spam. That's why it is completely inexcusable for Google to read our personal Gmail messages and send us spam ads directly into our Gmail inbox that look like real emails. While we understand generating ad revenue is the basis of your business model, this is a huge violation of privacy and trust.

Email providers have made enormous progress in protecting us from spam. Your decision to spam your own customers completely negates that progress, and sets a dangerous precedent.

Please stop sending us Gspam and stop reading our emails to target us with ads.
