The status of women is an indicator of the health and wisdom of any culture. When women are treated like property, rather than sentient, decision-making individuals, one half or more of the population is without a voice. Pro-choice in matters of reproductive health is our right.Without this right, women's health and status in a society suffer, and along with it, the ability of women to raise the next generation suffers. I am supporting only candidates that promote and defend this right for all women.

Women had worked so long and hard for their individual rights and now the current administration wants to take our rights away. Did anyone notice we are living the 21st century where women hold high level jobs and make decisions that effect our daily lives. We have the right to choose and I always want to have that right.

Yes.

Every citizen of this country is entitled to the most fundamental of all freedoms - the right to make determinations relating to their own body. These decisions should only be between a woman and her own conscience, and in following through with them, she has the right to competent medical care. It is completely wrong to undo the progress of the last quarter-century.

It is important to give women a choice so that they are not forced to go to an illegal back alley abortionist.

At times of great political constraint, like today, it is important to show solidarity and support of women. We will not go back in time; we will not lose the rights we deserve and must have as citizens of this country.

# 6,435:
6:50 am PDT, Apr 19, Alison Prelusky, New York

Women need the right to a safe and legal abortion; we cannot afford to let this government further erode that right.

women must be able to decide what is right for them!

If women were granted real equality this would not even be an issue. Controlling contraceptive rights is one of the ways those old men are still using to control women.

Women around the world have so little choice in their lives, the right to control the use of your own body is essential to human rights.

I will join in spirit

Keep the government out of a woman's womb!! This is a sacred choice and no legislative or religious body can or should make that decision for the woman.

# 6,427:

In Person, my husband and my best guy-friend will also be there.

My four year old daughter needs to have a future that provides equality and free choice in all aspects of her body and life. I need a life that is free, equal, liberated and enlightened. We will march to hopefully see these goals come true.

# 6,426:

Women must have the freedom to choose to end a pregnancy. Men--lawmakers, priests, the pope--cannot make this decision for them.

In a democratic society that using the notions of life liberty and the pursiut of happiness as a key doctrine in the governing documents, it is imperative that all people especially women have the legal right to do just that; pursue their life, their liberties, and their happiness as they see fit.

In spirit. A friend and her daughter will march in person.

I believe everyone is responsible for their own actions. It makes sense that if that's true then everyone must have the right to make their own decisions. I'm a man who believes all humans should have their own decisionmaking power.

# 6,420:
8:03 am PDT, Apr 17, Sue Trotman, Delaware
My husband and I will both be there.

If you are willing to stand by and let the government legislate that you are not allowed to have an abortion, then you are conceding that you would be willing to stand by and allow them to legislate that you MUST have an abortion. (as in China). The point is, it is not the government's decision EITHER way.

# 6,419:

I believe that women should continue to be in control of our own bodies.

# 6,416:
12:56 pm PDT, Apr 16, Yael M, New York
I'll be there.

I had an abortion yesterday. If I had not been able to I would have had to drop out of college and be a full time mother at age 19. I'd never be able to pursue my goals of becoming a doctor. I'd bring a child up in poverty and without a father. My life would be altered forever. I march so that others have the choice I had, and so that I now have the choice to decide when to have children, so that I may give them the best life possible.

# 6,415:
8:27 am PDT, Apr 16, Carla Beckwith, New York
I will be there!

It is MY body. It is MY say. It is MY life. It is MY choice. I want my daughter to know this freedom. I want every woman to know this freedom.

I will be at the march! I am a memeber of the ACLU and NOW. I will be marching with the CT delegation of NARAL Pro-choice, whom I have been working with.

It will bring together women and the supporters of women's rights from all walks of life and from all over the country to join in a common bond in protecting a woman's right to choose. I grew up in the era before Roe v. Wade, and I know how hard women have had to fight for the rights younger generations take for granted. From the right to vote, hold office, own property, receive equal educational opportunities, equal protection and due process under the law, to have the right of privacy, and the right to choose, are all rights to be never taken for granted. Anything taken for granted can be taken away! No government, no religious organization, no one, has the right to tell a woman what she can do with her life and most importantly with her body. No one who beleives in liberty, the right to privacy and right to choose your own path in life cannot sit on the sidelines as the erosion of these rights has begun.

For the sake of our daughters, AND our sons rights to not be parents before they are ready...for our rights to not burden the planet with another consumer of excess goods and services, for our rights as women to control our OWN reproduction, and our lives.

# 6,403:

March in person with my 21 year old son.

The nation needs to know that the silent MAJORITY will no longer be silent to the attacks on women's rights issues. We have fought too hard to get where we are and we need to stand up for our beliefs

# 6,401:
2:29 pm PDT, Apr 15, Gaia Veenis, California
I will march in spirit. I would go if it were at all possible.

More deaths will occur if the right to choose is taken away. The choice is always there, it is a matter of making it safe.
