Boycott Amazon for EXCLUDING Puerto Rican 501c(3)'s non-profit organizations from receiving Donations as Recipients of the AmazonSmile Foundation!!

Amazon donates 0.5% of the price of eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the Charitable Organizations selected by their customers. But they do not include Puerto Rican based 501c(3)'s which are exactly like the stateside orgs. Puerto Rico's mail is USPS, UPS, FedEx ect., so shipping is exactly the same in Puerto Rico as in the continental US. Puerto Ricans are born US citizens and follow US federal laws; we are a commonwealth of the US.

This is an racist, arbitrary and capricious decision not to include Puerto Rican Federal 501c(3)'s in their fundraising program.

Amigos de los Animales (ADLA) is a Puerto Rico based volunteer run organization founded in 2005, dedicated to protecting animals and educating the community about animal rights. ADLA has been a US 501c(3) since 2007.

Dear Ms. Cayce R. and AmazonSmile,

Amigos de los Animales (ADLA) is a Puerto Rico based volunteer run organization founded in 2005, dedicated to protecting animals and educating the community about animal rights. ADLA has been a US 501c(3) since 2007.

Puerto Rico is a Commonwealth of the US and those born here are born U S citizens. Our Puerto Rico based non-profit charity organization has been excluded as an "Eligible Organization” in section 2, part d. of the AmazonSmile Foundation Participation Agreement. In Puerto Rico we have the same monitary system and US federal laws. We follow most guidelines set out by AmazonSmile except that we are not part of the 50 continental US states.

I have personally been an avid Amazon consumer for many years and feel insulted by Amazon's 'Discriminatory Practice’ (as laid out by your own participation agreement, section 2, part f) of excluding Puerto Rico based 501c(3)’s as charity recipients.

I consider this exclusion a racially biased affront to Puerto Ricans as we also work tirelessly to better our society and have so few financial resources available to us. I formally request that AmazonSmile change it's policy to allow Puerto Rico based 501c(3)’s to use AmazonSmile as a much needed fundraising tool.
