Conceal or Reveal: Ask Quaker to Support Mandatory FDA labeling of GMOs
Quaker and its parent company, PepsiCo, are spending millions to prevent us from knowing whether there are GMOs in our food. Major food companies combined have spent over $100 million on anti-labeling campaigns and their trade association, the Grocery Manufacturers Association, is supporting a new bill in Congress — The DARK Act — that would prevent mandatory FDA labeling. This new industry-friendly bill will keep consumers in the dark. Unless GMO labeling is mandatory, consumers will not get the information they need to make informed choices.
Quaker, a brand that prides itself on its honest and healthy image, is not being fully transparent to parents, families and consumers across the country — marketing their products on trust, but supporting anti-labeling efforts at the same time. We need your support in asking Quaker if they will Conceal or Reveal.

As a concerned consumer who cares about the health and environmental impact of the food I eat and feed my family, I urge you to support mandatory FDA labeling and to stop funding anti-GMO labeling initiatives.
Studies show that the adoption of GMO foods has increased herbicide use in the U.S. by hundreds of millions of pounds, putting consumers and the environment at risk. The World Health Organization recently labeled the most prolific of these herbicides as probably carcinogenic. Families like mine have the right to see GMOs labeled, so we can choose if we want to support this increased chemical usage.
Instead of helping Americans get the labeling information they deserve, Quaker and PepsiCo have spent more than $8 million to deny consumers the right to know if GMOs are in the food they buy. Labeling information on American food products has grown to include transparency around ingredients, nutrition levels and portion size. Mandatory GMO labeling is the next logical step, and one that is already the norm in more than 60 countries around the world.
