Neighborhood Coffee Shop at Speedy Stop

Summary:  The citizens of the Windsor Park community and surrounding areas need a local gathering spot: a nice place with pleasant seating to sip a cup of coffee and get a muffin or a sandwich, while greeting their neighbors and enjoying the neighborhood.

See the full petition and specific requests at the bottom of this page.  Pardon the typo.
We have a couple of simple requests:

1. That the Owners of Speedy Stop conitnue with their expansion at 51st and Berkman, but rather than putting in a national chain business (such as Subway), instead partner with a well established local business (such as Jo's or Quack's), to create a more sociable and comfortable coffee, breakfast, and lunch spot

2. Since the expansion is on some pretty land overlooking the creek and Bartholomew Park (across the street), that they take advantage of this and create a pleasant, shaded outdoor seating area overlooking the green space and adjacent to the coffee shop.

Because Speedy Stop is in a prominent location across from the Mueller Development, it is also poised to receive regular lunch customers from the hospital and adjacent businesses.  Creating a more pleasant place to sit and a more interesting, "local-flavor" coffee, breakfast, and lunch spot would secure the success of this venture.
