The peak of whaling consumption in Japan was in 1962, 226,000 tons of whale meat sold and consumed worldwide.Factory ships were not used by Japan until the 1930s. As whale catches diminished in coastal waters, Japan looked to Antarctica. Toyo Hogei K.K. purchased the Norwegian factory ship, Antarctic, renaming it the Tonan Maru in 1934. Refrigerator ships were sent along to freeze and transport the meat back to Japan.
Regardless of efforts to establish limits, in part due to Japan ignoring an 89 day season limit and continuing for 125 days, a record 45,010 whales were taken in a single season.
Well I dont know what you guys think but that's a lot.They don't relaize that whale watching makes more money then whaling does.So why make less money when u can save whales and make more money? I don't get their thinking very well.
31,984 whales have been killed since the IWC moratorium.
I don't need to think,I know that we need to stop the killings of these wonderful animals please sign and help me end it.

I'm writing to ask you people to please stop the whaling.It's hurting a lot of people around the world knowing that whales are slowly going away now.
I don't know about you but i want my kids to see whales one day,...but they way things are going now its not gonna end well in the future.If you didn't know, you can make more money doing whale watching then killing them.
I'm just wondering why make less money killing them when you can make more money doing whale watching. Please think about what i said and thank you for reading.
