Tell the UN: It's Time for a Woman to Lead
In the almost 70 years of the United Nations, there have been eight Secretaries-General. Not one has been a woman.
The UN has passed multiple resolutions recognizing women's crucial role in building peace and security, yet only men have held its top post. In fact, a 1946 resolution that still guides the selection of Secretary-General says the position should be held by a "man of eminence and high attainment."
Tell the UN thats it's time for 50 percent of the world's population to be represented in its highest office.
Dear United Nations Security Council,
In the almost 70 years of the United Nations, there have been eight Secretaries-General. Not one has been a woman.
The UN has passed multiple resolutions recognizing women's crucial role in building peace and security, yet only men have held its top post. In fact, a 1946 resolution that still guides the selection of Secretary-General says the position should be held by a "man of eminence and high attainment."
It is time to elect a woman as the next United Nations Secretary-General.
