I wish to create this petition that domestic violent offenders or any individual with consistent anger issues and extreme violent tendencies or mental health issues that poses a danger to the public, family, or self should not be able to purchase, possess, hold, or be in control of any fire arms or dangerous weapons. Furthermore, The congress needs to tighten fire arm laws and regulations in regards to owning or purchasing any fire arms. More in depth back round checks need to be done and they also need to consider doing mental health checks and evaluations. Yes this is costly, but the a life is worth much more. In Hawaii The police department does back round checks and psychological evaluations to see if a would be new recruit is mentally stable to become an officer because of the responsibility it takes for a person to be mentally fit to bare arms. This type of consideration should be taken into account for civilian gun owners. All family members in the household should also be recorded and back round checked if a gun owner plans to keep his gun(s) at home. Furthermore home gun safety inspections should be made periodically and gun safety certification classes/re-licensing should be imposed periodically like they do with driver license qualifications.
