In 2001, Miramax Films released a so-called special dvd of The Crow, however, fans were cheated on the content. It was to include a director's cut, commentary and over an hour of special behind the scenes footage with Brandon Lee. Shortly before the project was due to be released, the director of The Crow, Alex Proyas, and Screenwritter David Schow(who owned the copyright of the footage) pulled out, due to a disagreement with Miramax management, and their long standing feud with producer Jeff Most. As a result only the fans have suffered.
We are seeking to have both Alex Proyas and David Schow understand the position of the fans of Brandon Lee, and The Crow and release the footage as promised, as a tribute to Brandon Lee. We wish them to set aside any personal feelings they have for the producers of The Crow, and do it for the fans and for the memory of Brandon Lee.
We are also seeking both Miramax Pictures and Edward Pressman, who owns the copyright for The Crow, to also make it possible for the full product to be released.
Target: Alex Proyas, David Schow, Miramax Films, Edward Pressman.
