Stand Up for Reproductive Freedom: Demand the DOJ Investigate Clinic Violence as Domestic Terrorism

Between 1977 and 2014, there have been 11 murders, at least 17 attempted murders, 42 bombings, 182 arson attacks, and more than 6,900 acts of violence reported by abortion providers.

These attacks—including, most recently, a shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs that left three dead and nine injured—are part of a long history of ideologically driven clinic violence.

This violence is the extreme arm of what women put up with every day—anti-choice rhetoric intended to shame us for exercising our reproductive rights and extremist ideologies that want to ban legal abortion outright.

These despicable attacks on our nation's most trusted women's health care provider are not just acts of hatred, but of domestic terrorism—and the DOJ should treat them as such.
