Tell Congressman Frelinghuysen Not to Defund the EPA

The President has proposed massive cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency that will gut the EPA's vital work.

President Trump wants to cut over 30% from the EPA's budget. The proposal would limit the agency's ability to enforce regulations, stop water pollution, clean up toxic waste sites and promote energy-efficiency. It would eliminate 3,200 EPA employees, nearly 20 percent of the agency's workforce.

Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen from the 11th Congressional District in New Jersey, is the  Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. From time to time, the Congressman has claimed to be an environmentalist. We need to hold the Congressman accountable and let him know that protecting the environment is a nonpartisan issue and defunding the EPA is unacceptable  in his District and around the country.

Our country’s environmental challenges—including providing clean drinking water and clean air, preserving our natural resources, and combating climate change—require stepped-up action, not cutbacks. We can't return to the age when rivers caught on fire, and air pollution choked our cities.

We demand that Congressman Frelinghuysen, as Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, maintain the EPA's full funding, allowing it to continue the crucial work of protecting our nation’s climate and natural resources.
