Tell Your Governor You Want Green Jobs

There's a lot of talk these days about "green collar" jobs - that they are the answer to our ailing economy as well as global warming. Well, it's time we start seeing these jobs in action.

Duke University has released a report that links low-carbon jobs to a growth in U.S. manufacturing. Now, EDF has started to map where these green jobs are, starting with 12 states - AR, CO, FL, GA, IN, MI, MO, NH, OH, PA, TN and VA (Visit LessCarbonMoreJobs.org for more info).

Whether you are in one of these states or not, you can help your own state! We need every governor in the country to be aware of this project. And we need to encourage them to promote capping carbon as a way of incentivizing these low-carbon companies.

Green jobs are here! We just need to start rewarding their innovations. Please write to your governor today.
Dear Governor,

A recent study by Duke University shows that a cap on carbon emissions will improve the state of manufacturing in the United States.

Businesses that work with LED lighting, high-performance windows, concentrating solar power, super soil systems and many more technologies stand to benefit immensely from low-carbon incentives.

There is much you can do to promote green jobs in your state, and I am writing to ask you to make this a top priority. Environmental Defense Fund has mapped low-carbon companies in twelve states, and continues to work on other states.

Please visit the website at LessCarbonMoreJobs.org and see what other states have to offer. Providing incentives to these companies at a state level is vital for the growth of our economy and the preservation of our environment.
