Close the "Terror Gap" in Our Gun Laws!

Under the current law, someone can be too dangerous to board an airplane, but can still legally buy guns and explosives.

This dangerous loophole in our gun laws is called the Terror Gap. And recently, 29 members of the House Appropriations Committee voted against an effort to close it.

An amendment was offered that would close this loophole by giving the Department of Justice the authority to stop terror suspects from buying guns and explosives. According to the U.S. Government Accountability Office data, terror suspects have long exploited this "terror gap" and purchased fire arms and explosives more than 1,300 times since 2004.

Tell the members of Congress who voted against closing the Terror Gap that they should be ashamed of themselves! Our homeland security is more important than pleasing the DC gun lobby!
Dear Congress Member,

It is absolutely shameful that you recently voted against closing the loophole in our gun laws known as the Terror Gap. According to the United States Government Accountability Office data, terror suspects have long exploited this gap and purchased fire arms and explosives more than 1,300 times since 2004. Terrorists are well aware of this gap in our gun laws.

It's wrong that someone can be too dangerous to board a plane but can still legally buy guns and explosives! I urge you to reconsider your stance on the terror gap and put our homeland security before pleasing the DC gun lobby.
