Save Tonner Canyon Now!

Please sign this petition to keep Tonner Canyon in the Puente Hills from being destroyed by the City of Industry and Diamond Bar for an unnecessary reservour and highway. Four of the five most endangered plant ecosystems in Southern California are found here in Tonner Canyon.
Tonner Canyon is a remarkably beautiful and unique region in the biologically diverse Puente Hills. Four of the five most endangered plant ecosystems in Southern California are found here, and the canyon is a crucial wildlife corridor connecting the Chino Hills and Santa Ana Mountains to the Puente and Whittier Hills.

Flooding this corridor will both remove the habitat and prevent animals and plants, already declining in number due to development, from freely moving along the hills in search of food and mates. The property was owned by the Boy Scouts, who sold it to Industry despite being offered more money by a conservation group which wants to preserve Tonner Canyon in its natural state. There was obvious political manipulation here.

I am a biologist and have hiked and camped in Tonner Canyon for many years. Please help to make it known to Industry and Diamond Bar that Tonner Canyon needs to be preserved, both for those of us who appreciate its great beauty and importance, and for the thousands of species that call these hills home.

Sincerely,
The Undersigned
