The United States is a country of Irish-Americans, Polish-Americans, Chinese-Americans, Mexican-Americans and many other ethnic groups. Beyond the stereotyping and partisan bickering about immigration, its our common past as immigrants that make us Americans.
We must remember that we all share stories of courage, hope, perseverance, love and gratitude, whether your family arrived in the U.S. centuries ago or yesterday. Today's qualified immigrants deserve the same chance to become full citizens and pursue their dreams.
Remind Congress that we are a nation of immigrants and urge them to make the immigration process more efficient so today's immigrants get the opportunity to achieve their American Dreams.
