Each year, thousands of sea turtles choke on plastic bags after mistaking them for jellyfish, a favorite food.
Leatherback turtles have been around for 100 million years, but if changes are not made for these turtles, they could be wiped out from the Pacific Ocean in just ten more years.
Did you know that between 4 and 5 trillion plastic bags are used each year globally, and each one can take between 500 to 1000 years to decompose?
Moreover, other sea critters like sea lions and dolphins have also been found with their stomachs filled with plastic bags!

i've been trying to take reusable shopping bags with me every time i go to the grocery store. it's amazing how much you can fit in them, and most grocery stores are even selling reusable bags at their check-outs now, usually for less than $1.

Use canvas bags when grocery shopping -almost every grocery store has them for sale and you can re-use them over and over!! I also use my bag from the HSUS when I shop. Any canvas bag will do!
