Show Your Support for African American History and Culture!

We are only about one year away from the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture. With your help, there soon will be a Smithsonian museum on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., that strives to honor, recognize and celebrate the African American experience and tell how it has shaped our nation!

The National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), the Smithsonian's newest museum, is the first national museum devoted to African American history and culture. Scheduled to open in the nation’s capital in Fall of 2016, dedicated individuals from across the country have been working diligently to ensure the construction of the museum. The NMAAHC will collect the historic objects and stories that will make it a special place of meaning, memory, hope, reflection and reconciliation for all Americans.

Please show your support and celebrate the countdown to the grand opening of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture!

As we countdown in this final year before the grand opening, I’m proud to pledge my support for the National Museum of African American History and Culture and announce my commitment to ensuring this important museum opens its doors in the fall of 2016.  I believe that African American history is America’s history and that every American will benefit from a deeper knowledge of the African American experience.
