Abortion Trigger Law Violation of Constitutional Rights

Gov. Haley Barbour, Mississippi has passed a law that states women cannot have an abortion in Mississippi if Roe v Wade is overturned. The law does not protect victims of incest and will not allow an abortion unless the woman is a raped and that rape HAS to be reported to police.

The reason I have an option to tell Haley Barbour if someone has had an abortion is because abortion is NOT a dirty thing and is NOT a shameful thing.

If we are to challenge these laws that will hurt women's bodies we must be free to speak our truth.

I am not invading anyone's privacy. It's an option.
This law violates Amendment XIV, section one of the Constitution of the United States of America which states:

"
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

To deny a woman the right over her own body and reproduction is to deny her life and liberty.

Women who are raped will not be protected by this new law as statistics show that most women do not report rape due to the emotional harms that come from legally prosecuting a rape.

To refuse to recognize the crime of incest in this law denies the seriousness of the crime itself, implying the law was merely thrown together without any serious thought.

Let Mr. Barbour know, by signing this petition, that you support Roe v Wade and you do not support this foolish, archaic, and unconstitutional law and you would like him to stop trying to claim ownership of women's wombs, women's minds, and women's souls.
