14,373 2:39 pm PDT, Jun 29 Mrs. Anonymous Female California I think muders get better care then these animals get. These animals have no choice and it needs to come to an end now all they want is love. This makes me sick.
14,372 12:29 pm PDT, Jun 24 Ms. Anonymous Female
14,371 3:31 pm PDT, Jun 22 Mrs. Ashley Perkins Female Virginia I think puppy mills are tragic. Animals have feelings and emotions for a breeding dog to live in such poor conditions and thrown out like a piece of trash when they are no longer "of use", to these morally sicking people is disturbing. I am sickened to live in a society that permits this inhumane behavior towards these wonderful loving creatures. I for one am very saddened to learn this. I thought that the American Kennel Club was a respectable organization. I currently purchased a yorkshire terrier from very respectable breeders and was in the process of preparing my forms to send in, after learning this I wont be giving them any of my money. Ive lost all respect for AKC.
14,370 6:38 pm PDT, May 22   Tina Zeutschel Female Washington
14,369 9:13 am PDT, Apr 30   dena fernandez Female Florida Obhor them Definitly should not be allowed
14,368 9:10 pm PDT, Apr 27 Ms. Sandy Prater Female Georgia I was largely ignorant to the existence of them until after I bought my first pet from a pet store. I noticed other dogs who seemed sickly or ill-bred and mentioned this to a friend who then informed me about the puppy mill situation and the abuse which goes on there. Needless to say, my next dog was a rescue. After his passing, I did opt for a breeder with AKC dogs, but have made numerous home visits and see that her animals are kept humanely and are well socialized family members. I feel that it goes against everything the AKC stands for. By putting your stamp of approval on abused and inbred dogs, you negate the purpose of the AKC and give your papers as much credibility as photo-copied dollar bill.
14,367 8:53 am PDT, Apr 24 Mrs. Anonymous Female North Dakota It causes great sadness to know man's best friend is nothing but a money maker to the greed of these people. How can they possibly live with themselves? I totally think its' insane! They are no better than the puppy mills. They are allowing this to happen. They have only 15 inspectors and the inspector better not "upset the applecart" with any bad news" according to former AKC inspectors.
14,366 12:05 pm PDT, Apr 20   Jessica Skinner Female Illinois They need to disappear. I never had any respect for the AKC, and to hell if anyone thinks it has changed for the better, now!
14,365 9:21 am PDT, Apr 20 Ms. Liz Burns Female North Carolina The same way I feel about factory farming or any other cruelty and injustice. Puppy mills exist because of greedy sociopaths. They are heartless and greedy.
14,364 9:35 pm PDT, Apr 19   Dean Powell Male North Carolina absolute disgrace to the human race their complicity is appalling.... as the old saying goes follow the money. It would seem they are no different from large corporations willing to profit by any and every means. Read the AKC mission statement, it's quite ironic.
14,363 2:56 pm PDT, Mar 30 Mrs. sue fitz Female Illinois
14,362 6:50 am PDT, Mar 11 Ms. Srishti Kapoor Female
14,361 7:21 pm PST, Mar 7 Mrs. vicki hibbs Female   IT makes me sick to think that these scum bags are using a living being to profit!! They need to be put in very small cages!!! disgusted.....I had for many years believed that the AKC was an upstanding organization dedicated to preserving the breeds....now to find out that they are doing THIS!!!! They are in it for the money...not the animal!
14,360 2:00 pm PST, Mar 6 Mrs. Rebecca Neiding Female Connecticut The breeding at puppy mills is performed without consideration of genetic quality. This results in generations of dogs with unchecked hereditary defects. IF the AKC continues registering puppy mill dogs, they will not only be doing a disservice to dog owners, any reputable breeders who register with them, but to the dogs they take so much pride in protecting and promoting. Their slogan reads "We're more than just champion dogs. We're the dog's champion." if this is true, they will put an end to puppy mills.
14,359 6:44 am PST, Feb 24 Mrs. christina alcaraz Female Arizona its just wrong. they dont know the harm theyre doind to the puppies. they should more carefull on that
14,358 1:37 pm PST, Feb 6   Suzanne Stortz Female Colorado
14,357 10:25 am PST, Jan 24   cat geary Female Massachusetts want them to all be shut down. period. the general public needs to be educated. people think they "rescue" puppies from pet stores, not perpetuate the problem. Help spread the word any way you can PUPPY MILLS KILL!!! disgusted AKC is all about $$$$$$
14,356 10:43 am PST, Jan 18   Renee Pacilli Female New Jersey   Please do not.
14,355 5:08 pm PST, Jan 12 Mrs. Rocio Acosta-Nava Female Illinois I think they are atrocious and the people who run them should be ashamed of themselves. They should not be as highly regarded as people believe them to be due to this issue.
14,354 5:31 pm PST, Jan 7 Mrs. CRISTINA ACOSTA-LARA Female Illinois I THINK PUPPY MILLS ARE HORRIBLE! THE PUPPIES ARE SICK AND HAVE ALOT OF HEALTH ISSUES AND ARE NOT WELL BEHAVED. I HONESTLY DID NOT EVEN KNOW THAT THE AKC WAS REGISTERING PUPPIES FROM MILLS AND HAVE LOST ALOT OF RESPECT TO THE AKC.
14,353 6:20 am PST, Nov 28   mari lerchenfeldt Female New Hampshire
14,352 4:30 pm PST, Nov 20 Mrs. Kathryn Livsey Female California They're horrific-the conditions are filthy, unhealthy and cruel(especiallly for the female breeders who spend their whole lives in them without human contact.) This is ridiculous but is consistent with what they said on Oprah's show revealing the horrors of Puppy Mills-that they don't condone it yet they didn't want to get involved(so the first part is a lie) They are all about profit and dog shows-don't really care about the animals that much
14,351 5:34 pm PST, Nov 10   james macdonald Female
14,350 12:49 am PST, Nov 7 Mr. ivo jorge Male Rhode Island
14,349 3:07 am PST, Nov 2 Mr. Matt McKnight Male Texas Disgusted. I believe that ALL dog breeding should just be stopped at least for awhile until something can be done so that puppy mills and backyard breeders will wake up, the only thing they care about is the money and selling purebreds, they do not care about the dogs. The puppymills have to stop, the USDA needs to be held accountable for the animals they fail to oversee. If we could see this happen then maybe their could be some sort of a new policy and oversight of all dogs and animals. The system is broken and the owners of puppy mills continue to operate exploiting the dogs so long as they get money out of it, nothing is worse than making your income of cruelty to dogs, they are murderous bastards. Disgusted. The AKC and it's " Standards for the breed " hold accountability as the puppymills strive for this perfection many destroying dogs who are too big or don't meet tgheir criteria, if anyone has as much blood on their hands it is the AKC. By registering the dogs you help fuel their operation and their income which means more to them than the health or well being of the dogs
14,348 10:24 am PDT, Oct 27 Ms. Kathryn Winski Female Texas I believe puppy mills are inhumane and need to be put to a stop. I think it's inhumane as well, and they are just as bad as puppy mills and contributing to the process of Puppy mills.
14,347 7:16 pm PDT, Oct 17 Mrs. charlie morris Female Ohio I think they should be shut down. from the video i have seen and pictures disgust me. the way they are treated are beyond animal abuse. There are no words to explain it. All they are doing is saying that it is ok to mistreat this dogs. And saying it's ok to stack dogs on dogs. It's ok to let dogs urinate and fecile on the dogs below them, it's ok to over breed them, inbreed them, to let the dog suffer cause were going to give you registration for each puppy you have so you can make more money and keep mistreating your dogs.
14,346 9:31 am PDT, Oct 4 Ms. Lori Powell Female Florida
14,345 8:38 am PDT, Sep 10 Ms. Anonymous Female   Mad Need to stop registering puppies from puppy mills. And yeah mad too.
14,344 9:14 am PDT, Aug 30 Ms. Julie Van Ness Female New York
14,343 9:21 am PDT, Aug 18 Mrs. GATTI Anne Sophie Female
14,342 5:58 am PDT, Aug 18 Mrs. Nicole Gros Female
14,341 3:17 pm PDT, Aug 17 Ms. Jeramie Dreyfuss Female Idaho
14,340 2:27 pm PDT, Aug 17   Anonymous Female
14,339 6:24 pm PDT, Aug 16 Ms. Julie Ensminger Female Arizona
14,338 3:41 pm PDT, Aug 16   Lisa Fleener Female Minnesota Puppy mills should be banned! Everyone that want a dog should be required to get them from shelters. There are millions of dogs and cats that would make wonderful, loving pets killed every year! They need homes now. A mutt is just as wonderful of a pet as any pure breed, often better, since mills inbreed their dogs! The AKC should be put out of business period.
14,337 9:02 pm PDT, Aug 15 Ms. Nova Bonzek Female Massachusetts I think the practice of having puppy mills is one of the most inhumane there is. I feel that in this day and age we all know better than to treat animals like this. I think that better care could be taken of stray animals, or the prevention of stray animal overpopulation. To feed them, get them homes, etc. we need better "marketing." It's pointless and cruel to use puppy mills of any kind. Save the ones out there first before breeding more than people can even handle. It just encourages irresponsible pet ownership to deal with animals this way.
14,336 4:25 pm PDT, Aug 14 Dr. shawna murray md Female New Hampshire
14,335 4:17 pm PDT, Aug 14   Dana Evans Female Connecticut
14,334 1:05 pm PDT, Aug 14 Mrs. Sarah Sanchez Female Montana We talk about how we are against animal abuse and how much we love our purebred dogs but isn't it abuse when these dogs aren't being loved or used as family pets but just to make someone some extra cash? That isn't why dogs should be bred. Their motto is for the love of purebred dogs but puppy mills isn't doing it for the love. They are doing it for the money.
14,333 7:04 am PDT, Aug 14 Mrs. Mary Lamb Female Utah Hate them Hate them
14,332 12:42 am PDT, Aug 14   Arianna Pallanti Female
14,331 1:31 am PDT, Aug 13 Mr. Nimbus Noodle Male
14,330 4:12 pm PDT, Aug 12   Mia Mallette Female Nevada   I do not think the AKC should register puppies from puppy mills, becasue it is just encouraging puppy mills to keep breeding. If we stopped registering them, it may downsize the amount of puppy mills in the USA
14,329 9:14 am PDT, Aug 12   Anonymous Female Iowa
14,328 2:01 am PDT, Aug 12 Ms. Jo Kampen Female   Breeding vulnerable little lives is an evil and cowardly way to make a living. Stop exploiting dogs and go and get a proper job. Inhumane and spoilt rotten, it's the USA turning a blind eye for profit.
14,327 2:28 pm PDT, Aug 11 Ms. Susan Tate Female Nevada Shut them all down! It is an outrage!
14,326 1:13 pm PDT, Aug 11 Ms. Raluca Iftime Female
14,324 3:18 pm PDT, Aug 10   Annette Zerr Female California
14,323 8:09 pm PDT, Aug 9   kim armour Female   all puppy mills should be shut down. aka should not allow this. In canada you cannot register a pup that came from a pet store/puppy mill. All pure bred puppies bought in pet stores come from puppy mills despite what they tell you.
14,322 3:18 am PDT, Aug 9 Ms. Leah hind Female   I think all animals should be treated with respect, and they ARE NOT when it comes to puppy mills, also people deserve a good chance of friendship with their pup, when they are from puppy mills they are often left with no human contact at all leaving them frightened of people, and so they may sometimes end up in the pound because the ownder is unable to bond. fabulous work, im proud of them but i wish there was no mill to rescue from int he firstplace x
14,321 8:14 pm PDT, Aug 8   Anonymous Female Nevada They are horrendous and our government should put much stricter regulations in place (with a way to monitor) to prevent the cruelty and inhumane conditions. Although I would rather get a rescue animal, those that wish to get a purebred should be able to know with certainty that their pet came from a caring, humane, and healthy environment. It is disgusting that an organization built on the supposed love of an animal would allow these animals to be registered because it only perpetuates the problem by giving puppy mills legitimacy.
14,320 6:26 pm PDT, Aug 8 Mrs. Julie Brown Female Nevada I think they should all be shut down. Dogs deserve a better life. The AKC has a moral obligation to protect the rights of all purebred dogs. They should ban puppy mill dogs .
14,319 6:17 am PDT, Aug 7 Ms. Cathy Dawson Female Tennessee they should be shut down. they shouldn't
