Help Save Pacific Seahorses!

When thinking about the state of our oceans, seahorses are the perfect place to start. These delicate and majestic animals are indicator species for the health of our oceans, and represent important intricacies in the food chain.

The Pacific Seahorse lives off the coast of San Diego, California and remains incredibly sensitive to habitat disturbances and human activities. The nation's largest network of Marine Protected Areas is just north of there, and we need to extend those protections south in order to save populations of pacific seahorses and other sea creatures.

Send a letter to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and ask him to ensure the sustained biodiversity of Pacific waters by designating the San Diego bay as a Marine Protected Area.
Dear Governor,

California should be proud of its impressive environmental achievements and its protection of diverse creatures. The state should continue on this path by designating the San Diego coast as a Marine Protected Area.

These protected areas are a key step in the preservation of our coastal waters and the creatures that inhabit them. The Pacific seahorse is just one example of a delicate creature that needs this protection in order to survive.

Marine Reserves are proven to hold a more biodiverse environment, and California could be a leader in the preservation of our oceans, especially in such a critical time.

Please continue to designate strong Marine Protected Areas, starting with Southern California. Thank you for your time.
