Stand Up for Torture Survivors

Our asylum system exists to protect the most vulnerable people. People like Mamie who was left with scars all over her body after fleeing torture in the Democratic Republic of Congo. But our Home Office rejected her request to stay in the UK, risking sending her back into the hands of her torturers. Even worse, this wasn’t an isolated incident.

Our shocking research shows that people who have survived torture are repeatedly being denied safety in the UK despite having valid asylum claims. These are people who have endured worse things than we dare to imagine.

What does it say about us as a country if we’re unwilling to protect the most vulnerable men, women and children when they need us most?

We’re demanding that the government does more for torture survivors. Will you join us?
