Raleigh County Animal Rescue in possession of two dogs abused by prior owners. Chester found on two foot rusted chain with no food or water and choke collar with spikes embedded in his neck that required immediate emergency surgery. Ryder was found with back two legs tied together and permanent injury to his back.
Animal cruelty is not only wrong—it is against the law in West Virginia. We ask for immediate investigation and prosecution of these two cases. In addition, we ask for specific guidelines to insure Raleigh County Humane Society and Raleigh County Animal Rescue report all animal abuse to your office in timely manner.
Animal abuse can also be part of a pattern of other violent acts within families and society.
