Meet one of the most prominent supporters of the Employee Free Choice Act. Barack Obama helped lead the fight for the Employee Free Choice Act in the Senate, and he's promised to sign the bill as president.
The Employee Free Choice Act would make it easier for workers to unite on the job, imposing stiff penalties for corporations who fire or intimidate workers who try to form unions and giving workers a seat at the table so they can negotiate their contracts just like CEOs do.
The Employee Free Choice Act will be among the priorities for President Obama and the new, pro-middle class Congress, but they need to see the broad public support for this much-needed change!
Check out this video, then tell Barack Obama that you support the Employee Free Choice Act.

I work a minimum wage, part-time job. My employer works me full-time until the computer is going to change my status, then I am forced to stay under 29 hours until the risk of actually giving me the benefits I deserve is gone. There is no hope of earning more, as there is a freeze on wages, and no hope of becoming full-time as they just don't do that. And this is Sears, a major retailer. I have worked for Wal-Mart. They are even worse -- part-time people are often worked forty hours a week month after month, yet get no full-time benefits at all. They are not even given vacation until they have worked for two years. The overall feeling I have at work most days is of no hope. Others feel the same way -- upset and used. Yet we cannot join forces. We just drop one by one, and are replaced by others. Companies do not want long-term employees anymore. I do not feel like a valued member of a team. I am a liability -- every moment on the clock is stealing money from the pockets of our executives, and believe me, we feel it. I feel powerless, both at work and at home. My pay comes to less than $10,000 a year, with the barest benefits my employer can get away with giving me. And I cannot negotiate for more. I am expendable. I would just like to feel that I actually have a voice, for once.
