Children are being taken away in the State of New York on Derivative Neglect, which stands for GUILTY UNTIL INNONCENT! New York is the ONLY state with this law! Something is wrong here! How is this fair to the families at all? This law needs to be removed, I believe in CPS, yes ... But I do NOT want my children FED AND CLOTHED BY THE STATE!
Everyone who see's this petition I pray that you will sign this petition so that the Gov. Of New York will see that something is wrong here!
Child Protection was put in place so that the children would accually be protected, but when it comes to this law it hurts the families whom have already gone through this and then have CHANGED themselves for the better! The hardest thing for anyone to accept is CHANGE!
No one could imagine how I felt on one of the happiest days of my life, but then two hours later at the hospital the nurse heard a knock and asked me if I was expecting anyone ... and I began to cry. In they came with smiles on their faces with an order of protection for me to stay away from my own baby whom I had just given birth to. The lady with the order of protection even asked me, "So does the baby have a name yet"? I took the paper from her with tears in my eyes, and asked her "What does it matter to any of you?"...and then wrote my daughter's name in where it said infant.
She began to walk out and then looked at me and said "Ingrid I am sorry".
I DID NOTHING wrong to loose my daughter! I completed many classes, and even taught some myself ... But no because of this law in New York I lost her at two hours old!
My daughter then began to have feeding problems up until I was able to see her two weeks later, she finally ate her whole bottle!
This is NOT right! I thought this was AMERICA ... Not in New York! Gov. Pataki please take into consideration these children that are being taken away from good homes!
She is my daughter! This sure would NOT happen if I had money, nor if the state felt I was someone important! ie: Your daughter!
The more I look up about CPS online the more it makes me ill ... you can sleep at night knowing you make money off of how many children you sucessfully adopt out per year?
I would rather fight for my children all the way and then loose, than surrender my rights ever ... at least I can tell my children that I NEVER plea bargened them out!
I am praying you have a heart, because if you do nothing I will continue to keep reaching higher.
I already have the Lord on my side and he is the MAIN judge out there!
