Support Everyone's Right to Read

Reading is a daily necessity. We need it for everything from understanding road signs to completing job applications. And yet, according to the National Center for Education Statistics, 20-25% of the adult population can only read at the lowest level or not at all. It’s a problem that begins early. Approximately 70% of school-aged children who struggle to learn have disabilities specifically related to reading and writing—often because they have dyslexia.

For people with dyslexia to succeed and contribute in a world that requires literacy skills, it is absolutely crucial that they receive the instruction they need to read. The International Dyslexia Association (IDA) has served children and adults with dyslexia and all who struggle to read for more than 60 years by supporting a global network of researchers and educators to provide comprehensive information and services to individuals with dyslexia and their families.

We believe reading is a fundamental right. Dyslexia affects individuals across a wide range of intellectual ability and at all socioeconomic levels. It is a condition that requires instruction with proven value in helping students with dyslexia. Will you stand with us to provide information and services to make sure everyone who struggles to read will receive the instruction and opportunities that most of us take for granted?
