Help Our Veterans Enter the Job Market

Returning to a civilian life after military service can be difficult, particularly for a young or inexperienced veteran who has to find a regular job for the first time. While physical rehabilitation programs exist to help U.S. vets cope with the wounds of war, our vets need more help when it comes to specific, career-oriented skills that will help them in today's competitive job market.

Investing in career development training for fields such as Information Technology (IT) can provide our veterans with the technical and business skills employers require. More than almost any other factor, IT skills are applicable in nearly every profession and country worldwide.

We must stand behind and support our veterans as they return home. Sign the petition informing President Obama to help our veterans transition to a civilian life and support training in programs like IT.
Dear President Obama,

For many U.S. veterans, there are programs in place to help them become physically able to work, but when it comes to connecting veterans with career planning, training and job searches, they are often on their own.

As a nation, we have an obligation to care for the individuals we send to war and care for them when they return. We cannot continue to let our service members fall through the cracks when they return home.

Mr. President, I support our veterans' transition to a civilian life and support programs and training in fields such as Internet Technology (IT) that will help our dedicated service members enter today's competitive workforce.

Thank you for your consideration and please continue your commitment to veterans and transitioning service members.
