Protect Your Grandparents from Cruel Scam Artists!

There isn't much stronger a force in the world than love for a family member - especially the love a grandparent feels for their own grandchild.

Unfortunately, in recent years would-be scammers have been preying on that fact in a cruel scam to extort money from loving grandparents.

It works like this: A grandparent gets a call from someone claiming to be their grandchild. The fake "grandchild" has been hurt or arrested, and needs money urgently.

The voice on the other line might make up an excuse for why they don't sound normal, or they might just trust that love will override skepticism. And too often the scam artists are right.

That's why it is vitally important our older family members have the information they need to protect themselves. Share these tips with your loved ones:

- Don't fill in the blanks on family names or other information if the caller is being vague on details.

- Don't trust wire transfer requests, which are easy for scammers to use anonymously.

- Hang up on midnight calls for money from "grandchildren" and instead confirm the grandchild's safety by phoning them or their parents directly.

It's time to take action and ensure no grandparent is taken advantage of for loving their family too much.

Add your name today and pledge to share this vital information with the grandparents in your life who might be vulnerable!
