California - Ensure Stricter Charges & Penalties for All Intentional Animal Abuse, Neglect and Cruelty

Unless penalties and charges for animal abuse, cruelty and neglect become more stringent, such crimes will not stop and defenseless animals will continue to fall victim to abusers.  Implications and repercussions need to be stricter in order to be effective in protecting animals.  California has made attempts in escalating from misdemeanors to felonies with exceptions.  Read more on their laws and penalties for animal cruelty at http://www.straypetadvocacy.org/html/cruelty_laws.html & http://www.shouselaw.com/animal-abuse.html

Although many states like California have changed laws regarding penalties for animal abuse, cruelty and neglect but with variations and intentions.  There is never a reason to cause intentional harm and/or death to an animal.  In some instances, accidents and actions for self-defense do occur and seriously need to be proven when it comes to repercussions for harming an animal.  These defenseless creatures need and deserve humans to step in and ensure that abusers be held accountable for any and all forms of intentional animal cruelty.  Such proposed penalties need to ensure any and all offenses against an animal be classified as a felony.  Along with the felony offense and appropriate consequences, the offender would be listed as a registered animal abuser that would prevent future mistreatment, ownership and encounters with any animals for a lifetime, guaranteed.  Strict measurements need to be taken and fully enforced in order to put an end to such animal cruelty.

The effort in this petition is to urge the California State Legislators to implement stricter animal cruelty penalties that would ensure any and all offenses against an animal is classified as a felony. California State Legislators – It is highly commendable that penalties have gotten somewhat stricter regarding animal cruelty cases but such felonies need to be implemented for all intentional crimes against animals.  I urge you to implement these stricter animal cruelty penalties that would ensure any and all offenses against an animal is classified as a felony.
