Stop McConnell's Attack on Climate Action

Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is launching an attack on EPA's proposed carbon pollution standards for power plants -- which over 100,000 EDF activists have stood in support of. These much-needed regulations would -- for the first time in American history -- set a national limit on carbon pollution from future fossil-fuel power plants.

Senator McConnell claims that it's a "cruel" rule, part of a "War on Coal" that would "devastate" his home state of Kentucky -- but his accusations just don't match up with the facts. A recent study actually came to the conclusion that it would be economically beneficial for Kentucky to diversify its power sources and invest in renewable energy -- which could supply over 30% of the state's power by 2025!

Tell your Senators to reject Sen. McConnell's war on climate action.
Dear [Senator],

Sen. Mitch McConnell has filed a challenge to EPA's proposed Carbon Pollution Standards for power plants under the Congressional Review Act.

Fossil fuel burning power plants are the single largest source of dangerous carbon pollution in our nation and one of the largest in the world. And it is not responsible for the U.S. to have NO national limits on carbon pollution from power plants. EPA's proposed clean air standards limiting dangerous carbon pollution from power plants will protect public health, fight climate change, and help our economy by sparking innovation in clean energy technologies.

Please stand against Sen. McConnell's attack on climate action -- and on the right side of history.

Sincerely,
