Tell Congress to Support Baby Brain Development

Our brains grow faster between the ages of 0 and 3 than at any later point in our lives. We need to invest in the first three years of life to give all our babies the best chance to succeed in school and in life.

Parents want and need information and support to best nurture and nourish their babies. Parents and their babies need dedicated time together after birth or adoption to develop strong relationships. And working parents need access to quality child care to make sure their infants and toddlers are truly cared for with strong early learning experiences.

Giving all babies a strong start in life increases graduation rates, improves the quality of the workforce, improves health, and reduces crime, all of which lead to a more productive nation in the future.

The science is clear: We must act now to ensure the positive future of generations to come. And with your help, we can make sure that Congress makes babies a priority.

We have a chance to create a country in which babies and parents have what they need to not only thrive, but also reach their fullest potential.

The first step? Reaching out to your members of Congress. There are important discussions happening every day in Washington, and babies need a seat at the table.

Today, add your name to tell our members of Congress to #ThinkBabies.
Dear Representative/Senator:

I'm writing to you on behalf of babies and parents in your state and across the country.

The first three years of a baby's life shape all the rest. During this time, our brains grow faster than at any later point in our lives, forming hundreds of new connections every second. When babies don't get what their growing brains need to thrive, they don't develop as they should. This leads to poor life-long developmental, educational, social, and health challenges.

When they grow up to be the workers and innovators our country needs, our babies can create a brighter future for America. But how prepared they will be then, depends on how we care for them now.

That's why we must #ThinkBabies and make their potential our priority.

Let's give parents the time to bond with their babies in the earliest months when so much of their development is at stake. Let's reach parents and babies where they are--from pediatricians' offices to home visits--to make sure they have the information they want and need to best nurture and nourish their babies. And let's make sure every family who needs it has access to quality, affordable child care where babies are truly cared for with strong early learning experiences.

The decisions that you make can give babies enriching early experiences, promote healthy social and emotional development from the start, and create a better future for our nation.

It is my sincerest hope that you will commit to fight for those who so often can't fight for themselves. Our country's future literally depends on it.
