Calling for an

“Independent International September 11^th Truth Commission”

WHEREAS, 911 was a tragedy that is one of the most significant events of our lifetimes;

WHEREAS, 911 caused the death of approximately 3,000 people from 99 countries;

WHEREAS, 911 was the catalyst for the United States to invade and occupy Afghanistan and then Iraq;

WHEREAS, 911 has raised more questions than answers;

WHEREAS, 911 has not been investigated thoroughly or honestly; and

WHEREAS, a number of events concerning 911 raise serious questions as to what really transpired and why, including but not limited to:

1.      Where were the fighter jets?  Standard operating procedures are for fighter jets to check on planes that have flown off course.  In the year prior to September 11, 2001, fighter jets responded to similar incidents 67 times.

2.      What really caused the collapse of the WTC North and South Towers?  No other buildings made of concrete and steel have ever fallen from fire, before or after 911. Evidence indicates the buildings were imploded as controlled demolitions. The collapse of Building 7 is even more puzzling, since it was not hit by an airliner.  Larry Silverstein, the owner of WTC 7, stated they “pulled the building,” a term used for controlled demolition.

3.      What hit the Pentagon? The hole in the building was not from a Boeing 757, which has a wingspan of 156 feet.  The hole was only 8 feet wide, and the windows did not even shatter where the wings should have hit.

4.      Has a plane ever “vaporized” in a crash? That is what is stated to have occurred both at the Pentagon and at Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

5.      Who invested in “put options” on companies devastated in the World Trade Center attack, several days prior to the event?  There is always a paper trail for these trades.  The failure for the SEC to reveal this information even four [4] years after the fact constitutes a cover-up.

6.      Why were the Able Danger reports suppressed? They strongly suggest that the United States government had full, prior knowledge of 911. This information was given to the 911 Commission and was simply ignored.

7.      Where are the eight [8] black boxes from the four [4] planes?  Black boxes do not disappear and are built to be indestructible.

8.      Why was the warning to Rudolph Giuliani to evacuate the World Trade Center not questioned or investigated further?  In an interview with the late Peter Jennings on 9/11/01, Giuliani unequivocally stated that he was told there would be a collapse, indicating someone had foreknowledge of it.

9.       Why did the 911 Commission fail to include in its report the testimony of William Rodriguez, the plaintiff in a pending RICO case against Bush, et al., that he heard explosions and saw the effects in the basement of the North Tower before the plane hit the building?

10.  Why has there been no investigation of the fact that two [2] seismic events were measured by a laboratory in Rockland County, showing magnitude 2-plus earthquakes immediately preceding each collapse of the North and South Tower?

11.  Why did the 9-11 Commission Report ignore the laws of physics in accepting the pancake theory of the buildings' collapse, when the existence of forty-seven [47] central columns in the Twin Towers render it impossible?

12.   Why did the 9-11 Commission Report make no mention of Operation Northwoods – a plan by U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff [top military] in 1962 to destroy American property and injure and kill American citizens and blame it on Cuba, in order to induce the American people to endorse a war with Cuba?  President Kennedy said “No,” but switch Afghanistan and Iraq for Cuba and we have the current wars.

13.  Why was the Stabilization Act that was passed right after September 11^th not questioned?  That Act made it so that individuals who were injured or who had family members who died in the World Trade Center disaster could receive money from the U.S. Treasury, for the first time in history, only on condition that they not sue the airlines, the New York Port Authority or the U.S. Government.  Another term for this is "hush money."

14.  Why was Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld’s statement that a “missile” hit the Pentagon not explored further?

15.  Why did Attorney General John Ashcroft not fly commercial aircraft after July 2001?

16.  Who told Mayor Willie Brown of San Francisco and others not to fly on 911?

17.  Why, after the events at the WTC on 911, did President Bush not receive special Secret Service protection at the school he was visiting, or fighter jets to protect Air Force One?  The law provides that the President, Vice President and other top officials be taken immediately to a secret location.  Who gave the stand down order to the Secret Service and why?

18.  Why were the Saudis allowed to fly out of the country on September 13^th when other flights were shut down?

An important body of United States public opinion, seeing that purely domestic remedies may be exhausted, is already calling on the world community to undertake steps to establish the truth about 911.  Notable among these is the Los Angeles Citizens` Grand Jury of October 2004 to August 2005 that issued the following call.

 ``We therefore call upon statesmen, thinkers, journalists, investigators, artists, scientists, jurists, academics, humanitarians, religious leaders, Activists, and other eminent personalities from around the world to establish an Independent International Truth Commission on the Crimes of 911, to refute the falsifications, omissions, and distortions of the Kean-Hamilton Commission Report, and to establish the evidentiary basis for a truthful, objective, and accurate account of those events that inflicted death and injury on citizens of 83 countries on September 11, 2001, and that have been used to justify war on two sovereign nations as well as to usurp individual freedoms at home [in the United States].’

They [Bush and company] either made it happen or they let it happen, and if they let it happen, then they made it happen.  Either way, they are and must be held responsible; and either way, they have completely and unequivocally covered it up.

Furthermore, if the United Nations General Assembly does not answer our call, then we shall support the establishment of an Independent International September 11^th Truth Commission, modeled after the Vietnam Tribunal of 1966 to 1967 chaired by Lord Bertrand Russell and Jean-Paul Sartre, with Hearings to be held as soon as practical thereafter.  These hearings are vital to “find the truth of September 11^th, with the inquiry to be completed by either body on or before September 11, 2006.
