| 36,468 | 11:59 pm PDT, Jun 18 | Kevin Kolata | Milwaukee | Wisconsin | First question; are dogs considered for hunting? No, because the dog has always enjoyed the favorited spot in social life. What I propose is a program to help people who come to the conclusion that they no longer desire a cat, to have an alternative to releasing the animal to the woods. I know your are saying 'Go to your local Human Society' but that isn't an alternative for most of the state or they simply have no interest to go to there. HS can not handle that surplus. And... this is the point... are cat more harmful than other hunted animals?? Thank You This is Kolata, Kevin B. PFC US Army Citizen of Milwaukee, Wisconsin And I am DISGUSTED that while I was deployed to Iraq during OIF VII that CATS of things should be considered for DEATH. I'M DISGUSTED!! For heaven sake; they are more important things in the world that the impact of CATS!!! |
| 36,467 | 6:10 pm PDT, Jun 1 | bob attaya | Massachusetts | I don't believe in killing animals. We are the only species that kills for sport. Why don't the sport killers take up a healthy cardio vascular exercise...like jogging up a mt. and jumping off! | |

| 36,441 | 8:15 pm PST, Jan 15 | Mark Loehrer | Kirkwood | Missouri | Because if they do, I will put forward a proposal to shoot hunting dogs. |
| 36,440 | 1:35 pm PST, Jan 13 | Melissa Bennett | University Place | Washington | I have 2 cats that are a huge part of my family. They do, on occasion, get out. I believe this proposal should be voted against becuase if it is passed in Wisconsin, what's to say that other states or cities won't see this as an easy control option and try to pass it in their location. I would be devistated if my cat got out and was found by one of these "hunters". To me, that would be like killing a member of my family. Think about this before you decide to vote for this...how would you like it if a member of your family was lost, and because of your proposal, was shot and killed. |

| 36,436 | 8:03 am PST, Jan 6 | Linda Walsh | I think it's outrageous that Wisconsin, let alone any city or town, has even thought this to be morally correct!! I'm a cat lover and I can't believe I am reading such horror! I'm happy I don't live there! | ||

| 36,431 | 5:23 pm PST, Dec 27 | Jennifer Henney | Griffith | Indiana | I can't believe anyone would even agree to hunting homeless/stray cats. That is so cruel, they have a right to roam the earth just as much as we do. |
| 36,430 | 11:56 am PST, Dec 25 | Stephanie Pianzio | saint george | South Carolina | Many people have outdoor cats. The peoples' pets will be the easiest targets. True ferals are rarely ever seen by humans and only come out late at night and even then are rarely ever seen. |

| 36,402 | 11:44 pm PDT, Oct 22 | Karen Rogers | Indiana | Cats are wonderful pets. And some are outdoor pets. That is insane thinking and very unethical. Does this farmer have a dog? And would he like someone to be able to shoot dogs as well? Both are wrong and unacceptable.!! Congress do the right thing and vote against this proposal. | |
| 36,401 | 11:26 pm PDT, Oct 20 | Janice Johnson | Shenandoah | Iowa | I have owned cats off and on my entire life (I am now 59), and I have loved them all equally and without question. No animal deserves to be shot and killed just because it has no place to call home. There are places like the ASPCA who have fostering groups who take in cats (and dogs) until new owners can be found. I am surprised that PETA has not heard of this petition. IT IS CRUEL AND INHUMANE TREATMENT of poor animals who cannot defend themselves. What if the situation was reversed?? Would you want animals hunting down/killing your children for sport?? |
Keep Domestic Cats in Wisconsin From Being Fair Game
Cats will kill birds, it's called instinct. Apparently, this hunter has a need to be on the same mental level as a feline. Humans are a very evolved species. We should be helping the animals that can not help themselves instead of lowering ourselves to their standards.
Please do the right thing. Not only will innocent homeless cats be spared, but pets will not be mistakenly shot and killed at a hunter's will. We have evolved beyond senseless killing.
