Where:     East Hampton, NY,

PLEASE SAVE THE DATE AND TIME TO PROTEST FOR THE DEER.

HERE IS THE FULL UPDATE I RECEIVED TODAY 1/4:

To everyone who cares about wildlife: This is your chance to let Town/Village officials know that the proposed slaughter of thousands of deer is unacceptable, the wrong way to go. Please join us and come out to protest the killing...see details below and spread the word!!! Nature photographer Dell Cullum has put a powerful piece against the cull on You Tube. Please watch this very beautiful video made by a local artist...it speaks volumes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2ET0OA1CkE And, according to Bill Crain, of the East Hampton Group for Wildlife: "the deer cull will be a horror for the deer, and there is no scientific basis for it. The available data suggest that there has actually been a decrease in the East Hampton deer population. The 2006 ground survey we commissioned estimated 3,293 deer in the town. The town's own 2013 aerial survey estimated 887 deer. Despite differences in methodologies, these surveys suggest a deer population in decline. A cull (sharpshooting slaughter) threatens to destroy the entire herd." WE CAN'T STOP NOW.... The deer cull has gotten the attention of media, other animal welfare organizations and citizens everywhere! They are all outraged by the proposed killing of thousands of deer by USDA sharpshooters. We have a lawsuit pending, but we must keep the pressure on. There will be a big rally protest...

Where:     East Hampton, NY, starting at the big windmill (across from Citarella) at juncture of North Main St/Rte27

When:        Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 1:00pm

Please come and be counted, as we walk through East Hampton village in protest of this dangerous and inhumane assault on wildlife. The deer need YOU, now!
