The Republican smear machine has been at its best recently, spewing falsehoods about the Democrats' health care plan. But President Obama said it best in his address to our nation, when he debunked the "death panel" claim:
"Some of people's concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but by prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Now, such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple."
It's cynical. It's irresponsible. And it must stop.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell must take a stand against his party's falsehoods. Tell Senator McConnell: Stop the lies! Force Republican Senators to debate policies actually in the bill, rather than spreading salacious rumors that don't meet the fact-check.
We took action on “GOP: Stop Spewing Health Care Lies”!

Senator McConnell, you are SUCH an embarrassment to the common wealth of Kentucky. It's high time you realize this G-NO-P idiotic behavior has gotten too old. You are holding our country back and need to resign ASAP. Obviously you are too old, too ignorant and have mental problems far too great to be in office.

The Old Boys Club of the Back Room tactics are too childish for the time in which we live and the dangers people face. Our world is now seemingly overrun with fraudulent and self-serving leaders. The worst of the lot in the U.S. seem to be Republican bad sports out to do what they can to make Obama fail. They are so angry at their own mishandling of national policies that they are peevish, nasty, and cut-throat in their attacks against reason and faith. Pretty hard to look at any of them and think they are grown men of privilege. Little men, you need growing up. Mature soon for the sake of us all. Oh, that's not what you care about, the all? Hmmm. Community is a word you should think about. Try.

Dear Senator McConnell,
I am disgusted with the way the Republicans have handled themselves throughout the debate about health care reform. Rather than focus on debating policy points, your party has relied on spreading lies to make the American people scared of reform.
In your role as Senate Minority Leader, you must urge members of your party to stop spreading myths, and instead focus on the facts.
As President Obama said in his speech to the joint session of Congress, "when facts and reason are thrown overboard and only timidity passes for wisdom, and we can no longer even engage in a civil conversation with each other over the things that truly matter -- that at that point we don't merely lose our capacity to solve big challenges. We lose something essential about ourselves."
Please don't let America lose what makes our country great. Urge your fellow Republican senators to stop spreading lies -- and work toward real health care reform.
Sincerely,
Bradley J Anderson

Enough lies and fear tactics! It is time to do what is right for a change. You should have all received a wake up call when President Obama was elected, along with the many other Democrats. It is time for Change! Do what you have been elected to do and pass the Health Care Reform Bill. If you choose to continue to ignore what is right for the Americans, then perhaps the Americans will smarten up and get rid of you and your wonderful health care. Paid for by your truly! Enough is Enough! Get the job done, or get out of Washington DC.

The strength of this nation is its tolerance and respect for a variety of viewpoints, but our ability to discuss and resolve our issues is hobbled by constant invective and unbridled distortion of the truth.
