Demand a STOP! to the Lebanon bird slaughters! And demand the Government enforce their current laws against it!

This is a HUGE! Problem. There are people in Lebanon who are hunting every and any bird from the smallest Sunbird, Falcon to the biggest Vulture or Stork. Countless European, Asian and African migrant birds are shot dead by the local hunters, they use these birds as trophies, etc.

The slaughter has been illegal since 1995 then in 2004 a draft law was produced legalising the hunting of common species. There are rare birds that are highly protected in there home countries that are being killed in Lebanon and some of them soon may face extinction.

There is a current hunting law which came into force in December 2012. All species other than specified game birds are protected year-round, and land owners and municipalities have the right to ban hunting on their lands. However, awareness of the law is still limited to professional conservations, senior representatives of hunting organisations and national government, and hunting over much of Lebanon continues to be uncontrolled and unpoliced.

These hunters also target the rarest birds for fame of having a rare bird "under their belts". They also try get as many as possible of any species to record the "biggest kill"
