Vote for Candidates Who Will Protect Connecticut's Water

Connecticut legislators first called for a statewide plan to manage our water supply back in 1967. After decades of complacency and false starts, the state legislature has finally mandated a July 2017 deadline.

But competition between human needs and keeping enough water in our rivers, lakes and streams are causing huge fights at the state legislature—particularly in this time of critical statewide drought.

To ensure that a sustainable Statewide Water Plan and other water protection measures become law, we need to elect pro-environment leaders to Connecticut's state legislature to fight for us: candidates like David Lawson (New Milford), Dante Bartolomeo (Meriden) and Tim Bowles (Southeast CT) are champions who will put our environmental health first!

Water is Connecticut's most valuable resource. It's also one of our most vulnerable.

As climate impacts intensify—longer droughts, more severe downpours—the safety and supply of our drinking water, lakes, rivers and even the Long Island Sound will be under threat. It's critical that we plan ahead.

By electing candidates endorsed by the CT League of Conservation Voters in towns across the state, we can ensure there are strong voices ready to fight for the water challenges and other environmental threats that are sure to come.

Pledge to vote for conservation candidates who will fight for safe water and a healthy environment for Connecticut.
