Protect Wildlife Habitat from Climate Change

Over millions of years, our planet's wildlife have adapted in stunning and amazing ways. Animals like grizzly bears, salmon and panthers will face a race for life as their food sources and habitat change.

By protecting important lands and migration corridors, and minimizing the impacts of global warming, we can help them adjust.

You can make a difference by sending a simple message to the Obama administration that we need to keep our amazing wildlife in mind when we design plans for our public lands.

Dear President Obama,

Over millions of years, our planet's wildlife have adapted in stunning and amazing ways. However, climate change is too big of a challenge for them to face on their own; we need to help them survive. Animals like grizzly bears, salmon, and panthers will face a race for life as their food sources and habitat change. By protecting important lands and migration corridors, and minimizing the impacts of global warming, we can help them adjust.

Our federal land agencies like the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Fish and Wildlife Service need clear direction from you that they should make it a priority to manage wildlife and public lands with climate change in mind. As the White House makes its new land-management plans this spring, we urge you to adopt climate-smart policies that protect our most treasured wildlife habitats and landscapes from the effects of global warming. Please make sure your Great Outdoors America initiative includes measures that will help wildlife survive climate change.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
