Save Our Neighborhood Library Branches in Providence
The Providence Public Library needs to remain responsive and available to neighborhood reading, research, and community needs.
We, the undersigned members of Save Our Branches, recognize that the Providence Public Library is undergoing a strategic planning process to plan for the next 5 years. We want to make sure that those responsible for making decisions regarding the future of our library system ensure that:
1) The existing 10 neighborhood branches of the library remain open
2) A maintenance plan for all 10 branches is developed and funded
3) Each of the 10 branches is staffed by a qualified librarian
4) Each of the 10 branches is open to the public for at least 35 hours per week, including Saturdays and some evenings
5) Each of the 10 branches has sufficient books and resource materials to meet the needs of its patrons
